IT Career Steps for Success and Satisfaction

I was recently the keynote speaker and the IT professional development event hosted by Cuyahoga Community College and the Helpdesk Institute.  My keynote demonstrated possible career paths for the IT students.  Some asked specific questions on what they might do based on their individual backgrounds.

Eric Vanderburg is an author, thought leader, and consultant. He serves as the Vice President of Cybersecurity at TCDI and Vice Chairman of the board at TechMin.   1. I personally wondered this as well. While in a career in computer related IT would be nice, I was just never sure where my background would get me or what schooling I would need to get me there. You have a very informative slideshare here.

    1. Interesting note on that: One person said they had a background in accounting and they wanted to get into information security so I told them about the forensic accounting recruitment that the FBI does. She was really excited about it.
